    New Day!!!
I just got to my local public library. It seems I live here more than at home sometimes. I think it is great that they have T3 connections, so I can get faster thruput on my updates. Anyhow, I was looking for some older authors on the shelves for some reading material for the cold nights, and I thought...why not Joyce Carol Oates. I recently read an article about her writing career, and I guess she is interesting. Of course, I don't dig the chick genre(romance), but I will sacrifice for a good writer. I just finished reading some John Gardner...World according to Garp...what was that about? I am looking right now at her older short stories. I think I might start with High Lonesome, a collection of short stories going back to the 60's. Of course, the Assassins looks good as well. They just don't write new novels like they used to...lol.

I got online the other day, looking for some ideas for my Christmas presents. I have a woodcarving knife collection, and I like to do woodcarvings, so I was looking for some books on project ideas. Anyhow, I came across a really good book that was at a bookstore online. The store had no connection to Amazon. com, so I was happy. It seems they carry both new and used books, but they have to ship from the West Coast, so it takes a few days to get here. Anyhow, if you are looking for a decent online store for books, you may want to take a look. They seem to have a good assortment. I think the name of the place is Powell's, and I think they are out of Oregon.

    That's all for this morning.

    Selling stuff
I just read a really cool article on how a lady made a boatload of money on the internet selling stuff for other people. I don't know if it is true, but I intend to check it out. Dollar for dollar, the internet is the biggest bang for your buck in advertising right now if you are a small business owner. The potential exposure is incredible...millions of possible customers. It remains to be seen how many of those folks actually read my tiny little blog. Here it is if you are interested....

I just joined this group today, and am excited at networking with other photographers interested in nature photography. I am based out of Columbus, Ohio, and primarily freelance right now, but I am seriously considering photo school and turning professional when I get enough money for the right equipment. I love the outdoors, camping, hiking, and catching animals in their element. I have an album on betterphoto.com, under stevelambertphotography, if you would like to see some of my work. I always love to chat, network, and even critique if interested in some feedback.

I also encourage you to check out this place for cheap backdrops and lighting for some of you thinking about a cheap way of getting started.

    Introductions....
I am an amateur/freelance writer living in Columbus, Ohio. I am saving up all my money to get into a writing program(MFA) somewhere warm like Texas or California. I write mainly short stories right now, working on the technique of writing more than the plot. I am always available to chat, critique someone's work(Not any longer than War and Peace), and give my opinions. My favorite genres are spy fiction, mystery, adventure, and an occasional romance(shhhh...don't tell). I love reading works by John Grisham, James Fenimore Cooper, Zane Grey, Michael Sparks.
